Our History
October 1984

Lunts Heath Building Supplieswas founded by Valerie and Robert Price, selling general building and roofing materials. Their youngest son, Chris, who was 12 at the time, helped out on weekends.
1991

After completing college, Chris joined the business as a summer driver, eventually becoming a permanent part of the company.
1994

Part of the yard was acquired through a compulsory purchase for the construction of Watkinson Way.
1996

The company expanded by acquiring the adjacent site, which included a former transport café.
1999

Further expansion was achieved with the purchase of the rear yard.
2003

A new warehouse and shop were constructed to enhance operations.
2006

Wolseley expressed interest in acquiring the business to integrate it into their national Build Center brand, as well as their Landscape Center brand.
2006

Robert makes the decision to retire.
2008

Chris made the decision to leave Build Center.
2010

Chris, together with his wife Joanne, established Landscape Worldin Scarisbrick, initially focusing on online sales.

2011

The business relocated to its current premises in Widnes, initially leasing the site.
2016

We made the decision to purchase the premises in Widnes.
2021

Their eldest son, James, officially joined the company.
2022

Their youngest son, Edward, began working during weekends and summer holidays.
2023

The company expanded again, acquiring the adjacent site in Widnes, effectively doubling the size of the yard.
2024

A planning application has been submitted for a new shop and warehouse.
